Art, mike, and Brody did good. Ure, Irish and I did ok. I am not sure what Casey was doing?? I think he was collecting black sand for his fish bowl or something.

Had a great time. Met new friends. Got some gold. Great day to be on the creek. Let's do it again soon!
Brought home a small very heavy rock for Jodi. It was kinda like crystal quartz but yellowish in color. It is translucent. When I look at it under a loupe, it has gold and something silver to tarnished silver all over it. Some of it running in veins. Very cool. I'll have to bring it for you guys to see. Forgot it was in my pocket. When wet it showed no real difference.

Allowing eyes to be picture goes against my personal rules of OPSEC, call me what you want, it is not permitted. The first random gold picture you posted was my recovery, I'm 90% sure I was digging through a tailings pile, but I'm still happy with what little I did manage to get. Overall I had a good time and was glad to meet a few of the new forum members.

Looks like a great time. Wish I could have made it but hopefully next weekend. Weather this week looks pretty darn cold after tomorrow.

Had an awesome time on the river with everyone. Couldn't ask for a better time... We all found gold! I also couldn't ask for a better group of guy to be out there with, nice to finally meet y'all and look forward to the next outing. For new miners like myself, I high suggest going on the next group outing, I feel like I made leaps and bounds in my young prospecting career. Can't wait for the next trip. For u new prospectors, a helpful hint, stay in front ywevis when hiking to and from the creek! Word of advice

Cabarrusgold can you post a pic of the rock? Might be able to help ID what it is or isn't. Sounds possibly like galena(lead) which is good thing. I am pretty sure it is galena on the rock with hint of gold and maybe copper. I have seen galena in mass on quartz at old mine sites. I'm not sure if I can get close enough to take a picture through loupe. It's so small but can be seen. I think it is quartz rock but thought it was amethyst at first glance due to it being yellowish translucent. It is the size of a 1 ounce fishing weight and weighs about the same. Very heavy for it's size. I have to bring a pretty rock home for wife each trip. Got to keep em happy! Also have my dredge named after wife. That really helped!
