So we decided to go out today and test multiple creeks. We test panned a small creek didn't find too many specs of gold, but we moved onto another creek. Got somewhat setup and made the fire. It was cold, and started to rain. So we made a fire kept us pretty warm til it was time to go, we put it out, and moved on to another creek. Tested a few more spots. Moved to another creek and tested found some gold, and moved to the next creek. Pretty eventful, minus the dreary weather, but I think we found several spots. No real good pictures of the gold, some dust and a few specs, but this wasn't a real workin session of the gold, just testing creeks for future runs.   |

I don't know if James was counting but I think we tested 6 different creeks.

one of my most memorable prospecting days was in late January a few years ago on a buddy's private land in Stanly County. We built a roaring fire right on the gravel bar that was loaded with flood gold. We spent the day sluicing away. Unfortunately a flood came through and totally washed that deposit away before we could really dig it. And now the property has been sold off.
Looks like fun!

Fun day! Besides one little rain shower it was fairly nice I don't know why you kept saying it was cold  I'll clean off whats in the snuffer bottle and post a pic of our findings |

yeah, sucks that land got sold, never really got to work it. bummer.

There are several creeks in albemarle that have good gold though |
