Hello everyone this is my first thread so please bear with me as i have no clue what i am doing. I have posted a pic of gold from a single creek in uwharrie i pulled this past year [ i hope i linked the photo correctly]. We have had some rain here lately i hope it gets the small creeks runing now if we can just get some good weather it will be good to go. Im just waiting for deer season to end then its to the woods for me however i may go out before then i just cant wait. I found good new ground over the fall and early winter that i hope pans out nicely. I know the uwharries well so if anybody needs info or has any questions i will do my best to help answer those questions and good luck to everyone this year and stay safe out there thanks. Nice looking gold. In my opinion, those pickers/nuggets are near a source although they are somewhat rounded in shape. Keep digging. Look for feeder creeks too. Small gold present in them does not mean source is lost. Have seen this many times at many locations. I would get down to bed rock and save clay, if any for later if it is present. Many will say that clay is a waist of time. I have found my biggest gold within clay!!!! Yes, that gooie crap that no one wants to play with. Let it dry on banks or at home then bust up and pan.

Yeah ive mostly had good luck with clay and i have found the source of gold in both of those creeks it starts as a ditch running up the mountain getting bigger/smaller untill it reachs a mine shaft but i would not go in them there not good ones like the ones that can be found at the russle mine ive been in most of those but these are caved in at the front kinda scary.
