In a small local creek likely zero gold but that was not the point. Working on set up. Seemed to be catching a lot of light color sands in the first two riffles and not much below. I thought I had pretty good flow through the box. The bottom end ended up with mostly pea gravel. First couple riffles seemed to fill with sand. I think I had decent slope to the box but the bottom half may have been in to deep of water. Any thoughts? Will run the clean out later to see if I ended up with even any black sand. By the way the water was COLD way more so than last weekend in UNF. Still found a little ice around the edges in calm areas. Not looking forward to UNF waters this weekend. Will be gloving it up either Saturday or Sunday likely the latter.

Sounds like sluice was not upgrading properly, ie all the blonde's. Was there black sand ? You should be seeing more black sand vs blonde..unless there is hardly no black sand in the creek. Is this creek known for gold? Break up birdshot lead of all sizes and throw it in your bucket of material mixed up and run it. That will help you get right setup, gl.
