Went testing. Phil was with me. Saw that nugget, it was covered with clay. Thought it was a rock. It wasn't moving like a rock. Cleaned it off. Still wasn't sure. Dropped it in Phil's pan. It made a thud. You should have seen his face.

Slick plate of my sluice. he don't classify, ya know he just shovels into his sluice.. Production, the more material you can process, the more gold you can find. If you are in clay, classify. If you are running cheek gravel, you can bank run. The sluice classifies, weight to volume. Do you classify all your material before you suck it into your dredge? Nope. The sluice seperates it weight to volume. Some sluices are made to bank run. Those plastic riffle thingys are not made to bank run. They can not sell them unless they can convince you that all material has to be classified. The brainwashing is complete:). Why would they make a sluice that can run massive amounts of material if you are limited to a bucket and classifier? It depends on the material you are running and the kind of sluice.

I second what Savage said. That's why I went with the production sluice over a AM. And... that's the dredger coming out of me also. More dirt, more potential for gold. The clock is running on a creek. Why not move as much material as possible?
