Hi, I've been dredging offshore Nome since 2006, I have over 1200 hours nozzle time from the first 6 years. Year 7 forward, I have worked with the only successful diverless suction dredge in Nome. We operate on over 3000 acres of deep water ocean mineral leases ("deep" meaning more than 30' water depth).
I designed and built several ocean dredges, including the Edge used on Season 2 by Zeke, and the green ice hut used last season by Zeke.
I offer advice to people wanting to get started in offshore dredging in Nome for three reasons: 1st people helped me out when I got started; 2nd I'm tired of seeing people burn through their life savings and getting into debt on failed attempts and scams; 3rd When people do fail, and over 90% don't come back for a second year, I want the stuff they sell to be worth buying.
I also have an interest in putting together another operation, one that would dwarf my current one; but that would take some serious investors and I'm not sure it's worth the risk.
-Andrew

Welcome what are u doing now ice dredging No more ice dredging for me. I tried it one year, hence why I designed and build the ice dredging hut that Zeke used. But ice dredging is not worthwhile unless being paid by a film company. Gold per nozzle hour is less than half of summer rates and man hours per nozzle hour is about double. The most successful ice dredgers, those with good ground scoped out from the summer, only make about $12/hr. Besides unless the rules have changed, ice dredging is limited to 6" or smaller. I'm a professional gold dredger, this is my off season; I work my 12 month work year in 5 or 6 months.

Do you have a NDA on your crawler? Do you mean a Non Disclosure agreement on the current crawler operation? Yes. We do not reveal any details that are not discernible from standing on the dock or reading the public portion of our permit applications; with a couple additions. We have decided since the rumors of our gold production are greatly exaggerated, inflated by more than 10x, it would be safer for us (less temptation), and more humane for anyone trying to copy us (more realistic expectations) to let it be known that our second best year was 608ozt. This will be the crawler's 11th year of operation, and it is extremely expensive to operate. There are a couple aspects that we hope everyone follows, most importantly the use of less-toxic (more expensive) hydraulic oil, like Clarity, Environ, etc.

About 400ozt wet Two 50ozt Dorés Same 400ozt dry in pot. Thankfully we won't have this much on hand anymore. We have a new shaker table that makes cleanups easy and all three refiners will have local offices in town next year. I'm sure the bank manager knows exactly what we are putting in/taking out of our safe deposit box. Luckily that bank was designed for holding gold. Interestingly the Nome Wells Fargo gets robbed every year on June 21st, hundreds of people turn out to watch the bandits march down front street, then the good guys battle them. It's somewhat surprising that corporate allows this to continue.
