...INCREASED FIRE DANGER ACROSS CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA THURSDAY ...
A BREEZY WESTERLY WIND WILL ADVECT A VERY DRY AIR MASS INTO CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA IN THURSDAY. MINIMUM RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES ARE FORECAST TO DROP AS LOW AS 13 TO 18 PERCENT ACROSS THE NORTH AND 18 TO 23 PERCENT ACROSS THE SOUTH. WESTERLY WINDS WILL GUSTS AS HIGH AS 18 TO 23 MPH ...ESPECIALLY IN THE LATE MORNING THROUGH MID AFTERNOON.
THESE CONDITIONS IN COMBINATION WITH DRY FINE FUELS SUCH AS DEAD GRASSES AND LEAVES WILL CREATE CONDITIONS THAT MAY RESULT IN AN INCREASE IN FIRE ACTIVITY.
OUTDOOR BURNING IS DISCOURAGED. IF ANY BURNING IS CONDUCTED ...MAKE SURE THE APPROPRIATE MATERIALS AND MANPOWER ARE ON HAND TO QUICKLY SUPPRESS ANY FIRE THAT FLARES UP.
Well this is actually a good thing for the creeks we go to. Get in some more good clay.

Prescribed Burns Planned for Uwharrie National Forest Media Contact: Deborah Walker, 910-975-0803 TROY, N.C., Feb. 25, 2014 – The U.S. Forest Service plans to conduct prescribed burns today and tomorrow on the Uwharrie National Forest. The Forest Service is conducting a prescribed burn today on about 700 acres near State Road 1005 and the Pleasant Grove community. Tomorrow, the Forest Service plans to conduct a prescribed burn on about 1,000 acres in the Badin Recreation area (Narrows Dam) with the help of a helicopter. The prescribed burns will help remove hazardous fuels, improve wildlife habitat, restore important fire-dependent species, and promote forest and ecosystem health. Prescribed burns can help prevent larger, high-severity wildfires, which could threaten private homes and property. Public safety is the highest priority during prescribed burns.

What area do you think this was at? Not like I ever go anymore but just wondering. Timbering all around but I would think a company wouldn't intentionally burn right now..
