Hey guys, I'm a little confused on the internet most say you can use a sluice or a shovel in uwharrie national forest and then their are few saying you can't. I'd really appreciate it if I can get some feedback. Thanks.

Each national forest has its on policies. I think Pisgah and Nantahalia are panning only.

it all depends on who you ask. you can get 10 diffrent people, ask them the same question and get 10 diffrent answers. never fails... if you ask me i think its ok to use one.

However if a ranger sees you, expect him/her to stop and talk to you. Regardless of if you're breaking the law or not.

Gotta be careful around UNF. Lots of people dig where they shouldn't. If there's a hole in the bank somewhere near you, and the ranger comes around, well, you'll probably end up having a pretty terrible day. It doesn't matter who dug it because you can't prove you didn't.
