Miners moss on bare metal? Ribbed rubber, then miners moss? Just carpet?
Also I know we have alot of diy people here what works best from your experience?

I would run something under the miner's moss. I would not place MM over top part of sluice or inspection area. Just deep V matt for that. Using MM there will load up. I have a piece of Gold Hog matting I am currently using there in mine. Gold Cube matting for rest of sluice.

TNT is my method. bare metal with ribbed carpet with moss then expanded then the riffles... punch plate shelf at top of box and deepv under the punch. It works time and time again with minimal loss. The angle and rate of flow and material, clogs and blow outs, really make the difference for loss...

Mine is a 3 inch proline. I figured they spent alot on R&D when it comes to the sluice. They give you a general setup. Something that works in most situations. I added v-rib matting because noisyboy was determined to make me change something. It seems to work as good or better. Thanks Lawrence. The biggest change I made was flow rate. I would crank the motor and turn it wide up. I was catching gold so I didn't think anymore of it. Then I was watching ywevis' s gold grabber. The sluice widens to slow the velocity to give small gold a chance to drop out. So I tried running mine at three quarters wide open. I did notice a slight suction lose but more importantly I seen an increase in gold recovery. Thanks James. If I was to add anything I would like a fluid bed or fine gold recovery sluice setup. Plus an easier way of checking values without shutting off my dredge
