if anyone wants a prospecting partner or just someone to hang around in uwharrie let me know. id be glad to have some company in the woods [ besides bigfoot ] and would love to help with anything I can. it seems not as many folks are in uwharrie at the moment. I really miss our group we had last year. it seems these days I don't like being alone as much as I used to. stay gold.

I don't run into nearly as many people when I go out there anymore. Mostly just horseback riders.

yeah its pretty dead except for hunters and horse riders. I don't really hang around the reservation much. I like going to parts of uwharrie that are less visited. basically anywhere that people are not aware of.

Hello all, I'm new to the forum. I went to Uwharrie the other day to try out my new sluice. (AM Recon II) and found a little color.

I like it allot. I want to get the next size bigger eventually. It's so much easier to clean up than the metal sluices I've been using. I doubt I use them anymore.

I use an am for low water sluicing and I also have an a52 that I use for bank running. they both have their ups and downs. the angus is easier to deal with but the a52 will catch more gold if set up correctly. overall I use the angus more because I classify down to a half inch. I also use 3 other homemade mini sluices that work well in small creeks.

That's part of the reason I decided to try the AM. It was a pain setting up my royal folding sluice and jobe 36" in low water. I'll have to try just classifying down to 1/2" instead of 1/4" like I have been. Hopefully speed up the process a little bit.

the am's do very well in low water and they don't need as much drop as other raised riffle sluices. 1/2" works good for me I don't like anything under that though. I used to go 1/4" but I haven't done that in well over 7 years. those jobe 36s are really nice sluices. as far as the folding sluice goes.. uwharrie creeks really don't have the gradient that longer sluices need. you may already know this from trying it yourself but in the right spot on the right creek you could set up a very long sluice.
