Pretty cool, another that I have yet to find. Would like to get into hunting crystals. Need to learn more about how to get started.

Have a couple places I may try and poke around at tomorrow. Likely nothing but have to try to find out.

Ok so round one...me zero. Found nothing. Lots of solid Quartz balls. Started in an area being cleared for construction, headed to a creek bottom. Nothing that looked even a little interesting to me.

Well that's how it goes checking new spots. Sometimes you find something but a lot of times you don't. Look for the source. Quartz veins. Can be anything from a small stringer vein to a huge quartz outcrop. Sometimes the smaller veins open up into pockets with crystals. but some quartz veins don't crystalize at all. Look for quartz that has a lot of cavities, flat crystalized faces, or visible crystals.

Finding the source was an issue in the construction area, creek button was just a bust. Will have to try a few more areas next weekend. This week is looking pretty crappy weather wise and work wise.

Do you typically end up digging pretty deep? Seems like you could if you found the right vein and followed it.

It really varies from place to place. some veins are pretty shallow and other places they go pretty deep. It just depends on the area.

That is what I figured. Look forward to getting out again next weekend. Have more spots in mind. Worse case scenario I get to go back to some pretty lol areas that I have not been to in a long time and just hike and climb around in the quite. Things could definitely be worse.
