I've been destroying my brain on trying to figure out what the best all around sluice box to get. The rivers and streams I go to have anywhere from slow shallow currents to mildly fast currents, but mostly on the shallow slow side. I don't want a really small sluice box. I'm looking for something that is about 12in wide. The one I have is 6'' wide and almost 2' long and I hate it. I got ripped off on it via ebay, the aluminum is about the strength of a soda can. Any recommendations, if it helps I'm in the upper Greenville, SC area. Thanks guys/gals for you help! Oh my price range is $200 max. I can't put to much money into it at the moment. Thanks again!

if you don't mind classifying I would go with an angus mackirk eureka . its a plastic drop riffle sluice that works very well in low water conditions. its about 12" wide and a little less than 3 ft long. I use the eureka a lot its my main box at the moment. I think the best sluice is a keene a52. it just cant be beat. takes a little more water and needs a little more angle and is a lot heavier but when set up correctly its the best sluice ive ever used. both are under $200. also might want to think about building your own sluice to fit your needs. ive built 3 that work really good in low water.

If there's good water flow in the creek I love using my Keene A51. If in lower water conditions I use my Angus mackirk forman.

A52 is the big one w/ bolt on flare. A51 is the shorter one
I have both but I used the A52 in my highbanker and usually only use it for sluicing when I go back to California

Thanks! I'll check into the A51, A52, and the eureka. What do yall think about the fossikers pyramid gold pan? I know Doc at gold hog makes and sells one but he wants almost triple than what fossilers wants, plus fossikers invented too.

the angus forman that fireonthemountain mentioned is a great sluice as well. as far as pans go I prefer a 14" blue pan over anything else. not sure about the pyramid pro pan ive never used it or docs pan

I use a Keene A51A sluice, measures 6.5" wide and 33" long with the 11" wide flare attached. It is great with slow water, The creek I have been working has a flow that is about 6" wide right now and very slow for this time of year..
