I had rough one findng much yesterday. Lots of prospecting different places. Finally found a little at my last stop.....you know it is bad when a lady on a horse rides by and says I have not seen anyone here in a long time looking for gold . Everyone quit coming a fe years back.

Nice! I made it back that way this weekend with a few boy scouts. We hiked part of the uwharrie trail (9miles) on Sunday and did a few pans here and there. I did see one other fellow panning a creek as we passed. MLK day I managed to set up my sluice and run 1 bucket, and showed some of the boys how to pan. One of them got super excited when he found a little color in his pan. I havent cleaned it up yet, but did prety good for just one bucket. Did see some trucks parked at a few different bridges yesterday, so I figured somebody was finding gold somewhere.

We camped at the Badin Lake campground Saturday and Sunday night. We hiked from 109 to jumping off rock on Sunday. We only had 3 boys and 2 leaders. Bumped into several folks practicing for the upcoming trail run. One guy stopped and took a break with us and said he was shooting for 8hrs for the 40 miler. I couldnt imagine doing that. The 9 miles we did bout broke us flat landers down lol.
