I sampled a creek today in a new area. This creek didn't look like it had been dug before, or at least not anytime recently. I didn't expect to find much since since it wasn't really in an area well known for gold. I did a bit of sampling and was finding a few specks, but then I got a nice little surprise   Also found this crystal in the creek. Although it's not the nicest piece, it's a good sign that there are more hiding somewhere in the area, and good size too!  |

very nice picker. I also found a huge crystal point over the weekend but its not nice enough to get a picture.

I was very surprised to find it. I was finding nothing but a speck or two in each pan sampling, then that picker showed up, then it was back to specks..lol
I've been in creeks like this before where you hardly find anything, but every now and then out pops a picker. I am definitely going to do some more exploring here

I found a creek awhile back that had decent gold at the time I sampled it. went back and found a nice picker. went back 10 more times and nothing but fly poop. now I hate that creek lol.

Yeah I've got a creek like that. sampled it a few times, hardly found anything just specks and maybe a random flakes or two. Then one day I was sampling around and found one nice picker, did another pan and got another picker.... then back to specks, or nothing.. lol. Funny how that works, but that's just the way it goes sometimes. I haven't been back to that spot in quite a while. Maybe it's time to check it out again.. |
