Hello everyone i joined the board a while back. I took my three boys gold panning last summer up around Marion NC. They loved it would like to get some advice / tips about the uwharrie area. Just acquired a pop up camper to use on some gold panning trips. The uwharrie is closer to us since we live close to the coast.

moccasin and mcleans creeks are decent. they are not far off of highway 109. you can camp around there too.

Thanks man do any guys get together as a group and camp out and pan for gold. I have heard something about eldorado post to get info from the rangers about rules of whats allowed

Eldorado outpost off of highway 109 can help you with rules and such. its mostly just no dredging, mechanical, digital, or moving parts. sluice and pan only. I mostly go alone in my adventures.
