I have been looking at getting the gopro camera.. I just don't want to spend that chunk of change to get a bad camera.. Gonna be using it for underwater dredging vids.

My son had one. We used to take pictures of trout when we were fly fishing. They work good.

Ive always wanted to get one to put on my remote control helicopters but havent bought one yet. My friend has the hero 2 and its been a very good camera for him. Would be interesting to put it on the heli and fly over a big river to see where the optimal spots are lol

The GoPro is a great camera. We have used them in racing for a few years now and have made many runs in the 200+ MPH range. I am going to rig mine up for gigging this year so hopefully I will have some cool flounder video's this year.

Personally, I think the wide angle lens on the Go-Pro's looks too distorted. There are lots of waterproof, shockproof, dustproof cameras around nowadays. I have a Fujifilm XP55. Google it.

I have a GoPro and shoots amazing videos. If you ever watch 'Dog the Bounty Hunter'. Leland wears one strapped to his chest.
Another camera you may want to look into is the Liquid Image dive mask. It can take video or stills.

I use the go pro Hero HD for my videos. Sure its older, and some complain about the fish eye effect. But I cant afford anything better and its good enough for now.

I think your camera is great Jeff. I think the videos are nice and clear. I might be buying one for myself. I can't seem to find my digital camera.

I have the Fuji XP55 also. It does OK if the water is nice and clear and a bright sunny day. In stained water the image is extremely dark with mine.
I want a GoPro Black edition. Was hoping to have it for my Cali trip but that isn't going to happen.

I have a Sony video cam in waterproof case takes great vids and stills but it is way to big and it floats like a balloon so must make it some kind of weight belt. before next trip.

I like the go pro, sometimes when I am dredging I am scared it's gonna get sucked into the nozzle.. Don't want to break the case in the hose, and lost the camera, but I thought about sending it up for a ride lol... I seen alot of tv shows using the go pro. The sasquatch hunters use it extensively. Many surf sports use it, it's about a good standard camera for any water usage.

Mine is a Coolpix sony hd. Good for depths of 59ft. Im very happy with it but like you guys are saying, I wish it was heavier, I may make some sort of sandbag holder so I can do hands free filming.
