I thought this might come in handy.
DREDGE FLOW RATE
DREDGE SIZE WEIGHT CAPACITY
2 inch 45 Lbs 2 yards per hour 2 ½ inch 67 Lbs 4 yards per hour 3 inch 87 Lbs 6 yards per hour 4 inch 121+ Lbs 10 yards per hour 5 inch 221+ Lbs 16 yards per hour 6 inch 646+ Lbs 25 yards per hour 8 inch 859+ Lbs 35 yards per hour
Dredge Weights are approximate.

Size does make a difference. Takes longer to get in water and is heavier, but once in, look at the material you can move!

Looking at this makes me want to sell my 3" Keene and get a 5" dredge.

You going to shovel 16 yards of dirt in an hour? Talking about a sore back.

those are actually flow charts for dredging sand.. that's what they used it on, not on real material

Yeah, I agree. If I would move 3 yards of hard pack, good stuff, in an hour, I would think I did real well. I will say that size of nozzel does make a huge difference. I think 4" is the sweet spot in regards to dredge weight, volumn of material, etc. Even with a 4" nozzel, it is reduced to control blockage.
