Hello All,
My name is Sean, I have known "Cabarrusgold" for going on 12-13 years or something like that. My only true hobby right now is historical reenacting. Which is great, but it is a black hole. There is no payment back other then the satisfaction of teaching some history to people whom otherwise wouldn't hear it. But out of 100 people... maybe 30 are interested. Not to mention traveling hours and hours to an event to be miserable... and there agian spending my money with nothing in true return when we are the show and the event staff is charging people to come watch the events. I guess you can say I am burnt out. I am a firefighter by trade so I work alot.. but I also have time off.. and if I can spend it relaxing and looking for something that has a true value in return then I am all for it.
From talking to "Cabarrusgold," he says you guys sometimes make a weekend out of this.. which I think is awesome... camping, relaxing and looking for gold... sounds like a good two days off for me. Like I said I am 100% new to this but I am wanting to get involved. I appreciate the oppurtunity and look forward to talking and learning from you all.
Thank you,
Sean

Welcome to the forum Sean. This is a great hobby. If I can get a weekend off work, I would be happy to show you some different equipment and help you get started.

Welcome Sean,
Glad to have you on-board, a word of caution however, when you find some gold don't look directly at it, even a long sideways glance is too much, once you do look directly at it you're hooked (Gold Fever), there is no known cure for gold fever, only therapy, which is going out and finding some more!!!

The tin type was made over five years ago at Chattanooga TN. I do not remember who the photographer was.
