Pan prospecting for gold in uwharrie national forest. With Picker Mike.. We didn't get much today, but Savage obviously didn't reveal the secret to the spot yet There looks like there isn't much water, that's true there are very few spots to pan. We dug in the middle of the creek to give us a place to pan. We started calling it Chocolate Milk Creek. LOL

Build a damn while ya there. Rock on! Not enough water for a dam.. The water wasn't moving so we dug a hole in the middle of the creek.

Five feet from where you were panning, I found two pickers in one pan. That is a hard creek. It took years to figure it out.

Even in the ole' days they had to pump in water to that area to mine. I've read that they ran large pipe for miles to the diggings. May be one reason the picking are still good.
