Hey fellow prospectors.  I'm new to gold prospecting and I'm excited about going out and getting in creek to prospect. I live in Davidson county nc and I'm looking for some tip on what I need to look for when in the creek as well as some spots to mine. I feel this forum will be helpful in my young start to finding gold, and hopefully I will be able to share some knowledge I gain while out looking for gold! Any tips will help me... Let's get out in the river, and creeks and find some gold. Thanks Brody

I'm in welcome... I have seen there might be good gold south of 85. I have looked at couple of maps and it shows a few old mines, so it seems like u are in a prime location.

Welcome to the forums. There is gold just about every where in NC, ya just gotta go down to a creek and look for it

You need to get with me some time and go prospecting. You will be able to use a new pan. We decided the 100th member wins a Garret's pan. Let me know when you are available. Congrats.

I have found old sample test pits/holes on my proporty but never been able to find gold however Silver Valley north of me has gold dont know how much but many silver/gold/lead mines used to dot that region. Also lexington has gold some places must have had alot ive seen 50ft deep trenches dug into hillsides its really neat i never knew that area had gold untill i took a temp job for the city of lexington and got to see many old mines around there. I mainly stick to montgomery and randolph counties for all my gold adventures makes me feel at home. You might want to look around at creeks that you live near or close to ill bet some could have good gold its worth a try anyways. If nothing else uwharrie has gold just have to dig it up lol.

That's awesome Savage!!! Thanks so much, yes I would love to get together and go prospecting with you.  I'm sure you could help me out a lot.  I will be getting pretty busy in February because I work for Richard Childress Racing and I change tires so I will be gone on most Sundays racing.  Just let me know when would be best for you.  Again thanks so much!
