I am planning on going to uwharrie this weekend. I was want to know where a good spot to start prospecting would be. I am from Davidson county and I see part of the forest is in the county. I have never been there and need a good spot to start. Thanks for the info...

Moccasin creek is a good spot to start on 35.429239, -80.021649
Will you be panning or sluicing?

I'm going to be sluicing. Thanks for the info. Can you go anywhere in the forest to prospect?

Yes El Doraddo is the usual meeting spot, however I've never asked them for any advice. If you are sluicing moccasin creek is a good one to start on, plenty of water flow and gravel bars to run. As far as UNF goes you can only dig in the creeks not into the side of the creeks or anywhere on land.
