By default when you create your account on a forum, everyone including guests who are not logged into a member account can view your profile to view the info that you have made public in that area. You can modify the privacy settings of your profile, however, to prevent non forum members from being able to view your profile, while still allowing registered members to do so.
To set this up, visit the forum that you have an account on and login to your forum account. Once logged in, click the Profile button found at the top menu bar, and then click the Edit Profile button found on your profile page. You'll then be taken to the Edit Profile & Statistics page; once here, click on the Privacy tab. When the Privacy page loads, look for the Who Can View My Profile option. If you want to prevent guests from viewing your profile, select the Members Only option. With that set, click the Save Privacy Settings button. When this is completed, the changes you set will immediately take place for your account.

I'd like to also mentioned while in the Privacy Settings to check the settings for who can view your email address to avoid getting email from spammers, etc.
Might as well check all of the settings while there,
